so my buddy’s leavin’…  my buddy who would actually get up in the a.m. and check her email before she peed.  my buddy who makes me INSANE with thoughts and dreams and schemes.  but it’s ok.  she’ll have a whole new perspective, and i can sleep in…  and maybe i’ll let her pee before she emails me in the a.m.

we crack ourselves up. by you.

blogging by you.

so… my housekeeping tip of the day:

do laundry, take it out of the dryer, pile it in the laundry basket…. do *more* laundry, pile it on top of the first pile.  repeat 2 or 3 more times, for several days, then leave the basket in a random room waiting to be folded.  in a few hours, that room will smell fresh like clean clothes.  a few hours after that, the smell will drift further…  my house smells springtime fresh like Bounce dryer sheets due to all the piles of clothes hanging around! =D

got any tips you’d like to share?  i’d love to hear them!  (the more tongue-in-cheek, the better!)

home again from my whirl-wind trip to california for my brother-in-law’s wedding.  everything was top-notch – she’s a doll, her family is so sweet, all the parties were fun and everything was beautiful.  they did not skip one detail.

poolside by you.

this is the day after the pool-side wedding…  i think every female that was there was nearly crippled the next day -why do we insist on wearing uncomfortable shoes?! because they’re darn cute, that’s why.

we *did* get a break once the official duties were over at the reception:

what do YOU call these shoes? by you.

you can tell the one from connecticut by her paste-y white un-spraytanned leg. =/

and i wanted to show you the dark heart i made for their wedding card – i did the first letter of each of their names and this heart – and of course i didn’t take a picture of the end product.  you’ll have to trust me, it was adorable.

<3 by you.

while this is surprisingly easy, it’s slightly complicated, too…  i should learn to photoshop so that i could center the heart, but it’s just easier to print it like this, then hack off the blackness with a paper trimmer =)  if you look close, you can see the reflection of my glasses and my jammie pants.  it was 10 o’clock and raining outside.  i’d love to know what my neighbors think of us….

this week i’m back to crafting and thinking about some things…  there are changes afoot, but i’ll save that for another day…

i’m heading out for a few days again…  my girls and grammie will be holding down the fort – i’m sure that all will be fine.  tell me it’ll all be fine.  this is the first time we’ve BOTH left the girls for any length of time.  i’m sure they’ll be sad when we get back, they plan on having a LOT of fun while we are gone!

this week we did some experiments with sparklers and shapes:

look what i can do! by you.

i have a few more ideas, but next time we’ll play with the sparklers when it’s not raining.  it may be a while!

alrighty, i suppose i’m  back from vacation… reluctantly.  sesame place was so much fun – we probably could’ve stayed another day or 2!

old friends           telly...           super grover!

beanie loved the characters and babycakes tollerated them from a distance.  we all went on some fun rides, some of which i was VERY surprised my small children wanted to get on - the big bouncy thing, the way high up thing, the waterslides…  there weren’t that many people at the park either day,  and the weather held out for the most part.  it was f.a.n.t.a.s.t.i.c.

back here on the homefront, when my mom’s not scooting back and forth to cape cod to visit ailing family, and my sister’s not visiting from 1300 miles away, and my other sister’s not crashing her car and my dad’s not having a  heart attack, things are quiet.  i’ve really gotten into making these wooden disk magnets:

craft 365 - year 2 - day 29

i’ve made 200 sample bags in the past week, along with a bunch of sets that i have put on etsy . i’m excited to start selling them in- person at craft shows during the holidays – i’ve got lots of ideas for holiday themed ones.

this week i’m thinking about making new perpetual calendars, now that my craftroom is 70% clean it’s much more fun to make things – everything so SO much easier to find!  let’s hope it stays this way!

look! there’s a floor in there after all!

the summer just got a whole lot more insanerererer.

well that was fun!

i’ve also been making piles and piles of these fun wooden magnets  and i’m finishing up the final details on another Scrap Can Do kit!

how does one transport 750 cupcakes to a parade?

turns out, the answer is UNFROSTED! =D  A local farm and friend of the preschool donated homemade birthday cupcakes as an after-parade-snack today.

pupcakes!!!

it’s the preschool’s 60th birthday and we all wanted to celebrate!!  i think we had the biggest section in the parade, too…  lots of decorated wagons, lots of “virtue word” shirts and signs,

 excellence

and a whole lot of sweetness!  i had a hard time deciding on the virtue words for the girls’ shirts – the choices were PERSEVERANCE, CREATIVITY, KNOWLEDGE, or PATIENCE (and maybe 1 more).  (then after the big word, it said “just a little something i learned at xx preschool”).  flippin adorable.  and it hadn’t occured to me to make one in MY size – the teachers had the iron ons on their aprons – so sweet!

*****

my mom is out of town and since we are the family park & ride to the airport, we have her convertible to ride around in til she gets home.  the weather has been so nice to we tossed the carseats in the back and have spent much time just driving around with the top down!riding with the top down

seems like we always have work or a picnic or some sort of plans for a 3 day weekend,  but we really had nothing going on for most of the weekend, and it has been fabulous…  i love getting together with friends or family, but it’s been wonderful spending time as a little family of 4, doing what we please, going where we want without having any real expectations…  a perfectly lazy holiday weekend!

ooof, it’s thursday again.

and what a week it’s been!  i started a “craft 365″ over on flickr again.  my springtime online sales slowed up a little this year, and i lost my drive to keep up on etsy… but then you can ‘t get sales if you’re not listing, so it’s a self-perpetuating thing-a-ma-something.  so instead of watching Dr G Medical Examiner with the laptop on my lap, i should watch Dr G Medical Examiner while cutting and pasting.  i cranked out a bunch of calendars this week, including this one that’s in the works to go to a good home in Brazil:

craft 365 - year 2 - day 5

beanie’s got *2* days of school left, and i think i’m more emotional about the school year ending than i was about it beginning.  my baby made it through her first year of preschool…  and today at school she rode a pony!

preschool freakin rocks.

the pony is from the horse farm next door to our home, and this nice lady is part of their family.  we’ve said hello a time or 2 in the *neigh*borhood, but babycakes and i got to spend a little time with her while i took pictures of her giving each kid a ride.  she is so sweet!  and while there was a break in the line of students, babycakes got a turn, too!

ready to ride the range

she was so patient and so good while she waited for everyone to have a turn and for me to take their pictures, once we were done we went and bought her a coloring book as a prize.  she seems to understand that when we hang out at the school it’s not really “her” time, and she stays right by me and just watches.  i am not sure how she’ll be next year when she can actually be turned loose on all the toys and games and puzzles!

*****

and tonight i spent some time planning for scrapcando, buying stuff and plotting out a new kit.  i’m going to start the rough outline tomorrow night and pictures will follow either here or over there in the next day or so!  for now, think suitcases, chipboard letters and little pearls that’ll sub for rivets!

and here i am in the middle of the night!!  =D

may 08 101

the UAB (Ugly Ass Bedroom) is nearing a stage where we might need to rename it!  the blue is on the upper-wall-ular area the beadboard has been purchased and is awaiting installation…  it’s shaping up!!

i came in here today to take a cute appreciation pic of my new pocket book from whitestonestitchery, but the second beanie heard the camera clicking, she came running and plunked down in my lap.

may 08 165

(so the pocketbook picture has to wait, but OI!  it’s so CUTE!)
