on being a grown up…

October 7, 2010

someone asked me to take pictures at their event on saturday.  i’m freaking out a little.  your husband’s boss’s second daughter only gets baptized once ya know.  YIKES.

on any given day, this is what i look like:

new sneaks!  that’s not gonna fly for my husband’s boss’s 2nd daughter’s baptism.  i went out last night and got these:

and a black dress.  someone hold me, i’m scared.  you only fall down and break your ankle at your husband’s boss’s 2nd daughter’s baptism once.

beachy keen

June 30, 2010

went to the beach today, took some pics, thought about how lucky i am to be in the situation i’m in.

the water was chilly, so we played in the sand for close to 2 hours.

it was soft and not rocky at all, and the tiny bits clung to everything.

the girls are finally at an age where i’m not terribly nervous that they’ll run head-long into the water, so i had time to actually sit and enjoy the beautiful day.

rocky neck has some great spots with weathered paint.  i made my children stand and/or sit near all of it. (icecream is a great incentive.)

(sit there and don’t break your neck, please.)

i love these stairs – we took pics here last year, too.

they got antsy after a while, so i was looking for ways to entertain them.  told ’em to do some ballet.

then the  icecream was purchased and eaten, and on the way out, i saw this.

and knew it was time to go.

silouettes

June 7, 2010

i’ve been tinkering with silouettes, and i love them!!  super easy to do, and fun fun fun!

i did a couple of the same using different backgrounds just to try:

it’s hard to get a good pic here, but i put paper with a scalloped design in the sides of these box frames – really cute!

i have lots of ideas for full body ones, playing and frolicking – can’t wait to have a little time to make some more!

shenanigans

February 11, 2010

we are slow-slow-slowly redoing our upstairs bathroom….  hunny is doing what he can on his own, but his time is very limited.  i picked out a great shower curtain and towels, so my bit is done while he is ripping our tiles and medicine cabinets and wires and un-fun things i cannot be bothered to think about.  i have a pretty normal, sedate looking house, but i think bathrooms should be a little wild and fun, and the new one will be awesome once it’s put together (in a million years).

i was so excited about the shower curtain that i took it out today and hung it in our spare bedroom as a photo backdrop.  i had great thoughts of sweet valentine cards for the grandparents… but the girls were not onboard with the sweet.  they wanted the silly.  almost 500 pics taken, and this is what i got:

and:

that little one is quite the character.  we all laugh constantly.  such entertainment.  perhaps i’ll try again another day, the shower curtain isn’t going anywhere any time soon!

when there’s so much to do!

i’ve been trying to make a back-log of items for my etsy shop, hoping to have enough inventory again to not stress at craft-show time…  lucky for me, i’ve been selling lots, but i don’t have a lot in reserve!  this week i’ve made a few things, but also taken a couple nights off.  i made a few calendars, and today while beanie took a little tv break, i made some new shrinky dinks.craft 365 - day 248  the darker shades of ink get so dark that they all look black, but this tourquiose color works just fine!  tonight i’ll try to cut some more birds and put some blue swirlies on them!  (the red ones sold this week!)

this calendar is one of my new faves, i love the travel sticker theme:craft 365 - day 249  i’m working at the store til midnight tonight, and hopefully get to make one or 2 fun things.  we have a large group coming in, so i might spend my time entertaining them, and that’s fine, too.  i enjoy trading ideas with our customers.  so til then, i’ll list these new goodies on etsy and entertain those babies!  have a great weekend!
